The Chemistry Undergraduate Students’ Society
Serving undergraduate students in chemistry at McGill University
The Chemistry Undergraduate Students’ Society is a group of chemistry students elected by their peers with the goal of building a community for all undergraduates in the department of chemistry, by organizing both academic and social events and services. Make sure to check out everything we have to offer!
The Chemistry Undergraduate Students’ Society (CUSS) acknowledges that McGill’s Otto Maass Chemistry building is on the traditional territory of the Indigenous People, Kanien’keha:ka (Ga-niyen-ge-haa-ga). The Kanien’keha:ka (Ga-niyen-ge-haa-ga) are the keepers of the Eastern Door of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

Chemistry Clothing and Food Drive
In the spirit of the holidays, CUSS is organizing a clothing and food drive for local Montreal non-profit organizations. In collaboration with Chez Doris Women’s shelter and Resilience Montreal, we will be putting out donation boxes in Otto Maass basement in front of Holmes. We will be collecting donations until Monday December 5th, the last day of classes. If you are in the spirit of giving, here are some items that could be donated:
– T-shirts, sweaters, socks, sweatpants, jeans, leggings, new undergarments
– Snow pants, gloves, mittens, toques, scarves, winter jackets, winter boots
– Sleeping bags, toiletries, tents, backpack, grocery bags, suitcases
– Non perishables: canned food, rice, pasta, candy, cereal, water bottles
– Monetary donations
Please ensure any donated clothes are in good condition. If possible, please separate mens and womens clothing, as well as food. We will have signs on the boxes indicating where to put each type of donation.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out!
CHEM 183 NTCs
In need of NTCs for the upcoming Chem 183 final? If so, CUSS will be selling notes for the final exam starting Friday December 2nd. If you are interested, please email us as of that date!
The note package will be sold at $20 payable by Etransfer to the above email. A preview of the notes is available upon request.
We will not be selling the NTCs once the exam opens on Friday December 9th at 6:30 pm. Please email by Thursday December 8th at the latest to guarantee a response before the exam opens. Requests for NTCs sent the day the exam opens or during the 3 days examination window will not be accepted.
Science Games: Join the Chemistry Team
The McGill Science Games are a 4-day no holds barred competition between Science Departments to determine which one can throw down the hardest, fastest, and strongest.
This event is more social than academic, but don’t think your Science wits won’t be put to good use. You’ll need to put your departmental pride and knowledge on display to win the Science Games Cup AND the glory!
The event will take place at the start of the winter semester. The Facebook group for the chemistry team is now open and can be joined at the link below:
